Hi all, Is the GST/HST Credit considered an income under the eligibility criteria for CERB? I know that to be eligible you cannot have earned more than $1,000 in employment and/or self-employment income for 14 or more consecutive days within the four-week benefit period of your claim.
To be more specific if I am earning less than 1,000 from employment but if I included the GST/HST it will be more than 1,000.

It is highly unlikely that you’re going to get paid until October. You should plan to go back earlier or plan to be without an income. You could also look for other employment if jobs start up before October which seems likely. With the new requirements to qualify for CERB you should qualify but you should get proof in writing from your employer that you were ready to return to your job after mat leave, as mandated by law, but they have laid off their employees Including your job. If there is any concern from CRA you have proof. You only qualify for CERB after your last mat leave pay period ends.
Hi,
Im a Canadian citizen and I recently moved from the US while living with my parents since young. I got married to my husband a few months ago before moving To Vancouver and we were starting to look into the spouse sponsorship so that he could come and live here with me. But i recently applied for CERB and they send me a check a few days ago. Now I don’t know if I should use it since I don’t want that to stop me from sponsoring my husband. I looking for a job that can help me make enough for the sponsoring annual income and I’m afraid that receiving the CERB can affect that in the future and make things complicated for my husband and I. What should I do and what is best to do in this situation?
