CEC here and as per notes for Security is not started. Status update January 08, 2024 and the due date is on January 07, 2025 which means my application is for comprehensive security screening? Hopefully not

PNP - EE - Inland application

AOR - July 2023
Biometrics - October 2023
Criminality & Info sharing - October 2023 (almost the same time with biometrics)
Medical - January 2024
Security - May 7, 2024
Eligibility - May 8, 2024
COPR released - May 9, 2024

Hoping that P1,P2 & ECOPR will be processed quickly. I've heard from other applicants it may take a while. (2-3 mos)

Did you have the line In the tracker "Activity Status updated: Background Verification"?
And do you maybe remember what was the last background check status in the GC key: not applicable or we are processing?

In the tracker, it only says "in progress", for the whole time.
We requested for GCSM notes last April 2024, the status for security was " Not started", were kind of worried that time, since security check due date were around July 2024. Fortunately, after a couple of days, we got an update, and Background were changed to "completed".

What does the due date mean on CBSA notes? Any idea why they take so long for inland applicants too? This is totally unjust:/

my CEC application has been in background verification “in progress” since July 2024 and i have not heard anything from IRCC since.

Does anyone have an idea of the timeline or what i should expect? Is there anything i can do? I contacted the MP and they said that they asked IRCC and the reply was “we are still processing”.

There is no timeline, mine started on May 2024 and still waiting, everything passed except the security check.
