Hello, I've had the same change to my application. Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check. My profile also changed from Medicals Passed on Oct 28 to you don't need a medical exam and also, it has been for a while in the reviewing your eligibility. Timeline is like this:

AOR: Sept 22
Medicals Passed: Oct 28
Police request letter on November 25th. (I had already done it and had to call the Canadian Embassy in Colombia for them to send the documents to IRCC then uploaded a webform and they confirmed the reception of documents)
CEC Inland with one dependent.

It has been almost 6 months with no answer. Anyone knows what's happening?

Honestly my guy it's not how long the security check takes, it's how long does it take for an agent to re-review your application. My file has only been viewed once in 5 months. The note in my GCMS notes says "Once biometrics are received criminality is passed". I submitted my biometrics 5 days after an agent entered that note, that was 4 months ago.

Did you try to call them for a update? I called month ago it was still stuck in eligibility review. But I called today it was passed. My friend requested a note last Nov. and received it recently but the info was outdated from the status of December.

I received my GCMS notes on Monday and called on Tuesday, status matches the notes. Based on the GCMS notes, the next time my application is reviewed I think I'll be sent a portal email shortly afterward.

No idea,
There is no logic in this status.
If nothing is updated then also you can get an approval email.

If it is updated, reflecting then your luck.

But if something is showing not started that does not mean you have to wait in all the cases.

it's all your luck.

So the agent told him his security check even not start on Feb 10, and then he got PPR on Feb 16? wow, I don't know if it's just super fast or the " security check didn't start on Feb 10" is not accurate lol

that is what I felt, status does not matter at all.

Few do not have any updates until they get an approval email.

Few are waiting for the last 1-2 months with everything passed.

This questions is for all old medicals folks - I am planning to get my new medical done soon as I had submitted old medical (2019 for WP) with PR application.
Also currently I am in India though I applied cec inland .
Wanted to check if any old medical folks have done their new upfront medical and irrespective if asked or not if we do upfront new medical can that affect PR application in any negative way ?

I am planning to do the same, the medical policy was extended till March 2022 ut I would like to do this upfront and raise a webform just to not get delayed with the old medical

Medicals passed: October 29, 2021 (new medicals)
No updates since then until I saw a ghost update 2 days ago.

Hopefully once I get the portal link the rest of the process goes fast.
