Has anyone having foreign work exp and old medicals received PR? I think none from our thread have received it yet ( hopefully we get it soon ) but do you guys know of such scenarios from other threads/ July , Aug AOR ?

I have Foreign Work Experience and New medicals. I received ecopr Dec 4, 2021

Me and dependent inland. Also declared inland.
Any idea why I received this email? Do I need to respond?

To the best of my knowledge, if you have CoPR, nothing now matters. You just need to get the PR card.

You are a landed PR. That means application is over.

I am not able to get any updates and calling IRCC agents is not helping at what stage my application will be now. Does it mean Eligibility and security are passed?
My ICT closed work permit is expiring next month and I need to file for an extension. Need some inputs from you all and what I should do now.
I am planning to file for an extension in the next 2 weeks.

IMMEDIATELY file BOWP. When you will file, IRCC will automatically and immediately send you a "Maintained Status" letter to attach to your work permit, that will be the proof that your status is maintained while your OWP is still getting processed.

BTW, this assumes that you are principal applicant.

Whats the status of your dependents?

If your dependents also have the situation that they are out of status, they need to apply for extension as well..

Pretty sure you will get PR before your BOWP gets processed but having a maintained status letter will make rest of your life easier (your job etc).

Yes @GandiBaat. I am the principal applicant and Spouse is on OWP. I have a closed Work permit till now and will have to file an extension through company attorney.
Will have to apply for an extension for dependents (Spouse and kid) as well.

if i were you, i would go ahead and file a BOWP. There is no guaranteed timeframe for a case to move from mep/bio to copr.

Agree. I would eventually get the WP extension filed in the next 2 weeks. My employer was not very helpful while getting my documents so they are not aware that I have filed for PR application so which is making me a little worried. Thanks.

If your spouse / dependent's status is also expiring, you can apply for BOWP + SOWP together (with proof that you are working in a NOC B job).

The only reason you will go for Closed WP extension is if your employer if footing the bill for extension.

Either way if you apply for BOWP, you will need to spend 110 + 150 per person. You employer will know that you have applied for PR because you will have to tell them that you are on maintained status due to your BOWP..

Otherwise, your employer can spend money to get your extension on your closed work permit. If you apply for extension on closed WP, your employer will not know a thing about your PR.

Yes I am going to file a closed work permit extension from the company attorney. The only reason for waiting was hoping all goes well in the next 2 weeks (will be 3 months from AOR) and I may not even have to file for an extension. Thanks a lot.

I can understand the pain of employer's reaction after knowing about PR process mine doesn't have a clue I even created an EE profile, let alone about ITA

True, but the moment you tell your employer that you have maintained status on your expiring Closed WP, they will know.

I hope you know that, you need to file for WP renewal atleast 30 days in advance

Also looks like you do not intend to apply for BOWP. Any particular reason?
