I know I have been wondering why? I took mine about a lil over a week ago... i guess i am just impatient... I expected inalnds CEC to be faster as well...being bias... 8)
For inland applicants they can know the medical history in a minute just by the health card details unlike the Outland aplicants. Wish it was faster and saved all the stress until medical passes

Hi. Did you have your PPR already? I just want to know how many months it took for them to request for your passport after you submiited the additional docs that they asked for.
That comment alone doesn't mean any thing. In all probability, number of applications for FSW could also be of the same proportion as opposed to CEC, which is very practical.
Far far more people apply for PR from all across the world via FSW as opposed to limited few who have worked in Canada on a skilled job for at least a year. To me its safe to assume the latter would be at max 10%

According to Express Entry Year-End Report 2015, there were 8,046 applications received for CEC versus 8,693 for FSW. Interestingly, the average EE processing time (80% of applications finalized in x months or less) was only 3.5 months for CEC versus 4.7 months for FSW in the year of 2015.
In 2016 we start to see delay in processing the CEC applications. Under the assumption that the # of CEC application equals to (or outgrows) FSW's, the workforce allocated for each stream would best explain this trend.

Wow, that's a surprise for me. Probably the first time this being the case as EE is introduced.
I can confirm the 2015 data. Most people had similar timelines. I myself had CEC app through in 3.5 months roughly and most FSWs seemed like around 5ish.
Coming to think more of it, its definitely harder now for some one applying via FSW to actually get an ITA. There would be plenty people in the EE pools but most of them would be scoring under 450.
Unless you are really young, may be have a higher degree (PhD or at least masters) or multiple degrees, with a great language score, its tough to score that high without Canadian education or work experience.
But then again i wonder why CIC hasn't paid attention to this and adjust appropriately.
