Am currently in Canada and am new to this forum. Can someone provide insight on the below?
I will be completing my 1 year experience in June and am planning to create EE profile once completed. I have language CLB of 7.5 though I have secured only 6.5 in IELTS writing
1. With current profile, after completing my 1 year, my CRS score is around 430+.
2. However, my company will be able to provide me a job offer letter highlighting that my job will be extended for 1 year from the date of PR card. Will I be able to secure additional 50 points for my job offer in CEC on top of my work experience in Canada? If I get this additional points, my score would be in 480 range.
What permit are you on - PGWP/open or closed. If on an open then no, that will not give you 50 points. Your employer will need to apply for a LMIA (pay $1000 and prove no Canadian/PR could be hired) and then wait for a decision.
Am on closed work permit with my employer with LMIA exempt offer letter. Its basically my company sponsored the visa when I was in US and transferred me to Canada
If your employer provides you with a letter stating that they will continue to employ you in this role for at least one year after you become a PR, then yes.

Yes. My employer will provide a letter stating that I will be in this role for atleast one after getting my PR. Thank you so much scylla and Naturgrl. Your suggestions were very much helpful

@scylla , is this required to be on a separate letter? Can this be included on the initial job offer inself? Also, what if they already said its for permanent? Do they still to explicitly say the AFTER PR part of it?

Also note that what I've said above only applies to people who are on LMIA exempt closed work permits with employers named on their work permis (e.g. ICTs) who have already worked for their employer in Canada for a full year and now want to claim the 50 job offer points. If someone is on an open work permit such as a PGWP or a SOWP, then an LMIA is required in addition to a job offer letter in order to claim the 50 points. In that case the "after PR" part does not need to be in the letter.

I'm on OWP and my wife is the one on PGWP. Currently working for an employer for WP and right now I'm looking ahead on how we can get our PR. I'm about to apply to OINP Job Offer this month and then CEC on July. I'm getting anxious to be honest, feels like we don't have enough time.
PGWP is currently on processing status and is expected to expire on January next year.

You are both on open work permits. If you want to claim job offer points under CEC, your employer needs to get an approved LMIA. I agree you are a bit short on time however it's not possible to claim the job offer points on an open work permit without an approved LMIA. So you need to have that conversation with your employer if you want these 50 points.

Thanks scylla. With the current timelines right now, I'm seeing applications for OINP that reached 12 months after getting the approved nomination. CEC, who knows when it will resume. Our points will be on 430+ on July, so that might be low according to the rumors of 500+ points when it resumes.
Do you have any other suggestions on what we can pursue? Feels like thats our only choice, and we may be forced to get out of country and wait for PR if ever we get lucky to get approved for OINP.
