Had a quick question regarding CEC. CICS mentions that 52 weeks of work experience is needed to become eligible for express entry. So my question is do we need to complete 52 weeks before we can apply, or we can apply now showing as 1 year exp since i would be completing the 52 weeks by the time they call for the PR invitation. Does this approach work?
In order to apply for EE you need first to create an EE profile online and then receive an ITA (invitation to apply) in the EE draws held by IRCC. The invitations are issued based on the CRS points score awarded against your EE profile in draws which occur usually every two weeks, although this interval can vary. At present the CRS points required for an ITA is around 445 points. You can create an EE profile prior to completing 52weeks experience but if you receive an ITA prior to completing 52 weeks you will need to decline the ITA as you will not have met the minimum entry criteria and your PR application would likely be refused without the MEC. Please bear in mind that if you receive an ITA without the relevant experience you will have deprived someone else of one of the limited number of ITAs issued. (at present usually 3900 every two weeks).

However, it may be possible to submit your expression of interest profile (which is not an application) before then. But monkeyspanner explained the issues if you chose to do that. Best to just wait until you complete one year and then submit your profile. You can certainly work on obtaining required documents before then, to speed up the process after you get an ITA.
