We have landed as as PR on March 2019 and applied for CCB on April 2019. This week we have received a letter from Canada Revenue Agency stating that we are not eligible for CCB as we do not meet residency requirement. The letter states that:
We determined that you are not eligible for:
**Name of Dependent** - since you do not meet the residency requirement.
FYI We never left Canada after arriving here and provided both RC66, CCB application from and RC66SCH, Status in Canada, Statement of Income forms while applying.
Now what should be our next step to resolve this? Thanks in advance.

You should call CRA then to find out. No one here can really say. If you sent all proof of residence for yourselves and your child then I am at a lost.

we did not provided the proof of landing as they asked only one document regarding her identity. mayb that is what they are looking for. we will call them on monday to figure it out.
@NareshC, what did the CRA told you? I got the same rejection letter today and we landed in June 2019. Are newcomers eligible for CCB ? or they get eligible once they file tax returns in Canada from next year ?

No. I asked the agent on the phone and she mentioned we don’t need any proof. We just need you to submit Statement of Income form RC 66 SCH with just the salary number.
She told me to submit the photocopies of the PR along with a letter as proof of residency.
I’ll update it here on how it went.

Hi, we landed on Sep 4 in ON. What is the process of applying for the Child Care benefit ? Do we have to mail the RC66 and RC66SCH letter to the tax center only or is there a way to apply it online ? Please let me know. Thanks.

Sorry for my late reply. Yes, just submit all the above mentioned documents. I also did the same and got our first CCB cheque after a month from submission of all PR related documents. Don't worry, you will get it very soon.
I have a query regarding CCB. I am permanent resident and landed here with my wife in April last year. This year in July we had baby here in Canada. We are receiving CCB and now my wife is planning to go for 5 months to India. I will be staying here working. They both will come back in March 2020. Can we continue getting CCB for 5 months assuming my son is canadian citizen and my wife is on parental leave ?? Thanks a ton in advance.

Would contact CRA for them to decide. Is the time period a firm time period? If you arrived last April your wife would not be on paid parental leave I assume she is just taking time off.
