I'm just curious - has anyone come up with a particularly great way to include cards from family members when we want the envelope visible (for the address, to show it is addressed to both of us) as well as the inside?? I'm thinking of just putting the cards in their envelope, and attaching a sticky note (like a post-it) to the outside to explain the reason for the card and who sent it.
does that seem reasonable?
I think I'm getting to another crazy-making place in this application....it all just feels so close!!
We didn't send originals. We scanned the envelope and the inside of the card and printed them both on one sheet of paper. I figured they won't really care what the front of the card looks like, they will want the addressee, the postmark, who its from and what is written inside.
Same here. All our cards have been scanned - just the inside as we felt the outside wasn't important and the cards hold too much sentimental value to send in...
Oh my goodness I never keep the envelopes from the cards with the address and postmark!! Is that a problem? I just scanned the inside of about 15 or 20 cards from my sponsor to me, me to my sponsor, and our family to both of us.
I don't think it much matters, honestly - it's probably the sentiment of the cards that counts.
I just have a pack rat for a partner - he keeps every scrap of paper he comes across....usually it drives me absolutely crazy, but ever since we started this application process, I have never been so thankful! The man is 38 years old, and still has W-2s from summer jobs he had when he was 18!! It's nuts!

It's better to show the envelope and the card. The envelope shows the card was actually mailed, to whom, and when. If there is no envelope, you could have just bought 20 cards a week before you sent in the application, and written fake dates and notes inside.
