Hello.

I am sponsoring my husband to come here in Canada. He is from Philippines. I've submitted our application last January 2013.

Application submitted January 2013
Sponsorhip approved February 2013
Application forwarded to Manila March 2013
Passport request August 2013
Second medical exam request March 2014

I am still waiting for their response of what is the result of our application until now.
And my concern is ...

What if Im going to cancel his application, would I be able to sponsor him again in the future?

Please help. Thank you.

You can order your case notes to see what is going on in your case. If you withdraw the application, you will be able to sponsor him again but if immigration had some issues with your application, it is likely that these issues will come up again. Further, they will wonder why you would withdraw the application and then apply again.

Are they holding your husband's passport since last August ?

Yes they are. They asked to submit his second medical examination last March 2014 and said that they are following the standard time in processing the application which is 14months.

The processing times had past last May 2014, and now still I dont get ang replies from them.

Call your MP if you are pass the processing time posted on the CIC website. They will be able to contact the VO office and see what is going on.
