You are permitted to carry upto one lac usd or its equivalent in other ccy from india for immigartion purpose during a financial year. That can be single or multiple visit.But the limit is like Fcy equivalent to USD 3000 + rest of the amount either by draft,chq or card(97000 usd). But if the entire amt exceeds usd 10000 then you will have to get customs approval in the airport which is called as customs declaration form. In CDF you can declare that its for immigration purpose.
Above mentioned details is for an individual person for a financial year. So if you are two you can individually carry one lac usd each.
Sorry,i thought the other way...frm india to canada
As per RBI-FEMA guideines there is no specific limit set for inward remitance. But if you carry in fcy above a specified limit (if not mistaken its usd 5000, then you may have to declare in front of customs at the airport. But apart from hard currency if you carry draft or remit through a bank in canada then there is no limit for that.
I dont know about restrictions in canada regarding limit.
Me and my wife's passport is already stamped, we are going Canada end of June, I got a problem regarding to Medical examination.
According to them, They found inactive Tuberculosis (TB) in my wife, and they send the letter mentioning that my wife must contact public health authority in province /territory of residence within 30 days of entering Canada. I am going to Toronto. now my question is;
1. may i need to pay for that ( i think that would be huge amount for me?), after landing in Canada? or it will be free...?
