Did you get your passport back? If you did then how long did it take them to send it?

LA consulate received my application on July 11 but I have not heard or received anything from them yet. I sent an email out asking for status of my application.

You are an exception. Normally they would never do this but you got it so I guess luck was on your side.
 
I am in the same boat as well. Me and my husband both applied for TRV thinking the processing time is just 14 days. Now we have a planned trip ahead of us in 1st week of september and LA consulate is not replying to any emails.
Do you suggest to visit the consulate in person?
 
Today I received a general email reply from LA consulate with my file reference number and all other stuff regarding visa processing time and advising about return of passport if needed. Hopefully they will send my passport back soon...they received my application on July 11 and its been more than 30 working days.
 
Any update guys?

I have not received my passport yet >:( and I am still waiting ...33 business days and still counting :(
 
Applied July 27 2012 and received passport with 5 years multiple on August 28 2012. LA office rocks...\m/
