Myself and my spouse planning to travel to canada soon by land from USA on a short trip( 3 to 5 days).
Son/daughter are US citizens hence we didn't request for COPR, but it was listed as dependents and medicals completed. It was mentioned non-accompying when applied.

We will move permanenlty at the end of the year/next year based on the circumstances at that time.

1. Can I take my kids during travelling to canada since they are US citizens they dont need VISA and its a short trip?

2. If I tell above will there be any issues at Canada POE for issuing PR card ?

experts please advise.

If your son and daughter were listed as non-accompanying, this means they won't be given PR along with you. If you want them to get PR, then you will either need to ammend the application to list them as accompanying (you will have to do this before you land) or you will have to sponsor them for PR after you land.

They still need CORPs to become permanent residents. The fact they are US citizens doesn't change this.

Again, since you listed them as non-accompanying, they won't be given PR status and won't be issued PR cards.

Thanks for the reply, I'm not expecting PR status for my kids, I'm only expecting to stay with me during the visit for one week.

1. so is it allowed minors(US citizens) to travel to canada without PR status and parents on PR ? or do they need invitations from other canadian citizens or transit VISA ?

2. Can I inform POE officers that my stay will be short term since the VISA duration is short and not ready yet, coming to canada only to complete the formalities and will come back in a month or two ?

Please advise.
