Hi guys, need a bit of infor regarding OWP for spouse.
I will be travelling with my spouse and kids to Canada. All of us are UK citizens and are TRV exempt and have valid ETA's for 5 years. I will be travelling on canadian study permit however my wife will apply for OWP at POE.
My question is if OWP is issued the same day / straight away if applied at POE?
Same question is for my dependent children. I assume that i will have to apply for visitor records for my minor dependent children at POE. Is this issued same day / straight away as well?

When are you planning on traveling? Is this happening soon or still several months away? Travel restrictions are currently in place whereby only those with essential reasons for travel are allowed to board the plane at come to Canada.
Right now IRCC is not processing work permit applications at the POE. This is suspended. Very very strongly recommend that your spouse apply for the OWP now (i.e. online) if you are still a few months away from travel since it's hard to say what the situation will be a few months from now.
We've seen very mixed experiences with individuals being allowed to board planes. If you're planning to fly in May, dice roll if your spouse and children will be allowed to board. IRCC may say their travel is non-essential.
