i have been reading the landing process in this forum and i think i have most of the information. however i still have some question and hope to have some of my doubts clarified.
I am planning to do my landing process toronto (last week of aug 2014) and flying in from US .. I have question mainly on the return part to US
I have a valid visa stamping for my H1.. once I am done with my landing and while returning to US is there anything specific docs required since i have a valid visa stamping valid for 1 and 1/2 year. will there be any further questions asked...?
I was in the same situation as you. As long as your H1B visa is valid, there shouldn't be any issue. I am not too sure if you are aware of this. For people entering the USA, the immigration stamp on the passport happens in Canada itself (in your case Toronto). I did not know this and was wondering why the guy was asking me questions on what was I doing in the US until I noticed US immigration badge on his shirt. When you land in the US, you do not go through immigration, you are directly into the airport.
The questions that they ask is about what you do in the US, they do finger printing as well if I remember it right.
thanks for the information.. yes i am aware that US immigration is done in Canada itself..
have you completed your landing recently ? how was it? and specific questions while landing ?
thanks again

It is better to land in Toronto (even from the US) by flight than drive through Niagara. If you drive through Niagara, you may not get a chance to apply for a PR card. The landing formality is pretty straight forward. They are not interested in goods that you carry list. The only focus in on Goods accompanying list. I was not even asked for Proof of funds. No questions asked. The lady at the "Welcome to Canada' desk applied for our PR cards straight.
