We are applying inland. My partner arrived on a visitor's visa in mid-July. We got married last week. However, he was in Canada on visitor visa in 2010 from May to February 2011. Just wondering if he will need a Criminal Record Check in Canada as well as his home country?
Thanks
I lived in Canada on a visitor visa for almost 2 years a few years ago. I didn't include a records check with the RCMP with my sponsorship application. They didn't ask for one, and my GCMS notes show that they did it for me.
I just checked the application package instructions for inland applications, looks like they specify it must be done for every country you've lived in since you turned 18 for greater than six months
other than Canada. Check it out
here.

Does anyone know if finger prints are required for the Canadian criminal record check?
WOW!
What part of the previous reply to your post did you not understand?
He does NOT need to provide fingerprints, or a police check from the RCMP (Canada) unless CIC specifically asks him for one.
