The truth always ends up coming out: I called Immigration Québec last week and they revealed to me that they have no sponsorship application in progress for my spouse (they never received any application forms and documents). I'm trying to see what measures I can take against the lawyer in question. He practices law in Quebec

I will definitely do so...though he was smart enough to make sure I got no receipt or tracking number from him as evidence that he had done what I had paid him for. He will most likely lie that he didn't receive any payment from him. His act was well planned. I will contact the Law Society of Canada nonetheless...and I contacted legal supervisory authorities in Quebec yesterday.
