I think you shld stay in canada for 2-3yrs as permanent resident in order to be a canadian citizen... are you ok to travel abroad as tourist or have a long drive going to US?!? What are the restrictions? :'(

You can travel abroad or take long drive to US so long as you have the VISA for the destination country, if you are yet to obtain the Canadian passport.
