can we show USD for proof of funds

can we carry USD equivalent to the required canadian dollars as proof of funds or
does it have to be in CAD itself.
iam planning to show all of the required funds in cash (USD) since i have the required amount in USD, not planning on getting a bank draft or travellers cheque as i dont want to lose money in conversion and i will be going to canada only for landing and will be returning back soon. is this advisable?

Yes you can .
My sister carried US $ 6000/- Cash , DD for US $ 12,000/- and CAD $ 1000/- Cash

No Issues in this
