Can spouse of PR can get open work permit if the current status is visitor?

Hii my spouse is visitor in Canada n I am Canadian permanent residence am just wondering if he is eligible for open work permit? If yes how can I apply?

If you are a PR applying for spouse sponsorship via the inland route then you can apply for a spouse work permit which usually takes about 4 months. Other than that the spouse would need to find a employer sponsor for an LMIA application.
