Can I work before the LMIA work permit approval?

Hello,

I currently have a visitor permit.

I have a valid job offer and the Positive LMIA result from the employer so, I applied for the LMIA work permit.

Before the work permit approval, Can I start to work now based on the public policy allowing visitors to apply for a work permit?

OR
only applicants, who meet the criteria and had a valid work permit, could start to work before the work permit approval?

Do you meet this requirement?

- who had a valid work permit in the past 12 months

If so, then you can go through the process of requesting authorization to start working before your WP is approved. (You can't start working until you have authorization.)

If not, then you need to wait until the WP is approved.
