Can I visit Canada while waiting the spouse sponsorship approval in HKG?

My Canadian husband would like to sponsor me as spouse for living in Canada.
We are thinking to apply in HK as heard that is faster than inland application.
We would like to know if I can come to Canada while I am waiting for outland sponsorship approval in HKG?
