If anyone knows if my parents have submitted an application for visitor record to extend their stay in Canada (before the expiry of their current stay), while they are still waiting for the final results (current processing time 100+ days), can they leave Canada? I am a little confused, as at that time their initial stay will be expired (exceed 6 months), but the final decision for the extension hasn't been received.

Anyone has an idea with respect to - Is a Letter of Explanation required? Where to upload it? (the current document list does not have a specific item for this)
If my parent has a multiple entry visitor visa that would expire few years from now but she will exceed 6 months stay soon as the flight was cancelled. Is visa extension necessary? Thanks

Thanks PPM. The expiry in the stamp is 2026. There is nothing in the passport indicates that she has to leave in 6 months. It is just my assumption that any visit visa shouldn't exceed 6 months per single stay, am I right?

the expiry date of 2026 means she is able to use that visa to ENTER Canada while the visa is valid. It does not mean she can stay in Canada until 2026.
it is also possible to have an expired visa but have valid status (authorized stay) in Canada.
