Can I extend my WP if my spouse holds a PGWP?

Mine is going to expire at the beginning of next year; my common-law partner is applying for her PGWP and hers probably expires in 2019. Someone told me that I can extend my WP to the same expiry date of my partner's. Is this true? I remember that the government has a 4-year working policy. If this is true, how to proof that we're in a common-law relationship?
