Can I enter 88-90 days before the college course starts?

Hi.
I have Korean nationality and currently in Australia with working holiday visa. I’m starting to proceed application of student visa in Mar 2019 and college course (in Toronto) starts in Jan 2020.
Since current working holiday visa in Australia expires on 12 Oct 2019, I’m planning to go to Montreal from here for sightseeing and go to Toronto afterwards with my friend. (My friend is getting married to Canadian and proceeding for Permanent visa)
Is it possible to enter Canada with student visa or eTA even the course starts about 88-90 days later?
Planning to enter on around 8th Oct 2019.
I heard I don’t need to apply eTA if I have a letter of acceptance for student visa.
I’m very worried about being denied to enter.
I might buy a ticket to the US to go out from Canada temporarily just in case.
Please give me any advice. Thanks.

Wrong information. There's no restriction as such. OP may not be asked any questions by CBSA or at best to show funds to support his stay.

You can enter in advance but should be prepared that you may face more questioning at the border. You'll want to demonstrate that you have sufficient additional funds to support yourself during these three months without working (it's illegal for you to work until you start attending classes for your program in Jan 2020). Border officials may ask you more questions since you are entering so early to make sure you don't plan on working illegally.
