I recently received PPR request and passport stamping has been completed. Currently I am on close WP in canada which will expire in Nov 2017. Now due to some technical issues in my organisation I need to have valid WP before I am on PR.
So I want to apply for VISA extension (current status is passport PR sticker stamping done but I have not crossed border to complete PPR).
Can I apply for VISA extension? Is there any issue of rejection since I have passport PR sticker stamped.

Why can't you just cross the US/Canada border before your WP expires? Doesn't take long to do landing anyways and you don't need to extend your WP because once you do your landing, you can use that Landing Confirmation paper and take it to Service Canada and get a new SIN. Then you can continue working as a PR not a temporary worker

Hi Wonderland_1010 Thanks for you quick response but I need to extend WP due to technical issues in my organisations. If I get new WP then will get revised salary and more $. Else same existing salary.

Well I don't think CIC will issue your WP because you already have PR stamp. Why don't you just explain to your company that you already have PR stamp and will do landing soon. Because if you do want to extend your WP, then they will take time and you don't get a extend one right away. So it goes both ways you see. Either do you landing and get PR on the same day or extend your WP and take 84 days to process
Assuming your COPR has been issued unlikely you would get a work permit extension given they are probably mutually exclusive . You need to complete your landing or simply I guess stay as a temp worker which assume you do not want.
Assuming it were possible you might be looking at 3/4 months to process, probably a refusal anyway.
