Hi experts,
I am in USA on H1B and my spouse is in Toronto, Canada having PR. We have applied for spouse visa for me last month which is in process.
My question is can I apply for visitor visa to Canada while my spouse visa is in process?
What problem can occur in applying for Visitor visa?
You can apply for a visitor visa but I believe they like your sponsorship to have been approved already so wait til you get past that point. You should specifically mention the spouse application in the letter and try to give the usual assurances and proof that you will leave the country at the end of the visit. Since you are already following the process and are a few months into it of course you have to return to home to wait for any communications from the Embassy or to receive the visa so they can actually look favourably on the fact you have a spouse visa in process and more easily grant a visitor visa. My wife did that recently.
Thanks Frolic !
My sponsorship application has been approved already and they have forwarded the case to Buffalo center.
Do I need to give them my application number of spouse visa for visitor visa?
