Hi All,

I gave my IELTS CBT last week. Below are my scores.
L - 7.5
R - 8
W - 6.5
S - 7.5

Q1) For listening, I was confident that I had answered 35 questions correctly, and out of the remaining 5, I was 50% sure that 2 might turn out to be correct as I remembered hearing so, and based on my intuition. However I ended up scoring band 7.5 which constitutes to 32 to 34 correct answers only. Can I go for an EOR and is there any possibilities of getting a higher score?

Q2) For writing, in Part 1, it was writing an informal letter to a friend inviting his for a special event at your home. One of the questions was to cover details of travel and accommodation arrangements. While I wrote elaborately on accommodation arrangements, for travel, I just wrote like "will make arrangements for travel based on your confirmation". In Part 2, it was an agree/disagree type essay and I followed the pattern of rephrasing the question and adding a couple of my points regarding my stand on the given statement. In body para 1 and 2, I explained my points well with suitable examples. I made use of lot of synonyms but not complex words. However, for the conclusion part, I just wrote 1 line combining both point 1 and 2 with probably just 10 words. Will an EOR fetch me .5 more for such a writing?

Hi, it’s unlikely that your listening bandscore will change because this is a less subjective aspect of the IELTS. However your writing has a 50/50 chance of changing or remaining the same; if you are confident of a higher grade then go for it. I personally got a 0.5 increase from 7 to 7.5
