brother if you filed your case in Vancouver and moved now Calgary... then will you have to go to Vancouver for hearing ?

thanks...
No brother ,they will transfer my file to calgary and my hearing will be held here. Sorry for late reply.

Hi guys, I am new in Canada and this forum. I applied for refugee claim on 09 Sept 2018, my claim was referred to IRB after eligibility interview on 13 Sept 2018, I moved to calgary from vancouver after this. Now I have done my medical and applied for work permit.
Please guide me:
When can I get Work permit?
When I can expect hearing in Calgary?
What is total processing time from refugee claimants to Permanent residents?
Thanks have a nice day.
May I ask you why did you move from Vancouver to Calgary and can you plz suggest if i should file case if Calgary, Montreal or Vancouver

You should primarily be worried about whether you have any friend or family that can provide housing for you in a specific city or whether you have enough funds to pay for your own housing in one of these cities. If you are an asylum seeker without a work permit you will likely have to offer to pay 6+ months of rent in advance. Most refugee shelters across Canada are full and so are most shelters for the homeless and wouldn’t recommend living in a homeless shelter in general. It isn’t very nice. Cases are redistributed across the country so you could be waiting a long time in any location since backlogs are increasing.
