Not really... a couple of short trips to US and a couple to Europe. I am not sure what caused the delay in background clearance...

Don't mean to be nosy, but are you from the Middle East? I'm thinking that might be playing a role in the delay of the background check

Could be. My husband only took 1 trip in the past 5 years and he got DM the day after his test.

I cannot get a hold of an agent thru phone. Is there any way to check whether they received my fp from vancouver? Gcms n

No, I am from Europe. I've spoken to a few friends, who were in the same situation. I think engineering/science related profession might play a role in longer checks.

You need to call them early morning. I used to call them at 6am. It works for me.
 
I think it depends because I never quit Canada but many forum member left but their application processed so leaving Canada does not affect until its too many times and hard to reconcile for IRCC. 1 or 2 does not make difference
