Here is a portion of an email that I got from Buffalo

"Your file is in a queue awaiting initial assessment. This could take up to 52 weeks from the date we received the application."

To be honest, I am not blaming them because they are probably workign really hard which we can see by the number of applications being approved on trackitt.com but 52 weeks is long.

Dear Rupash
It is looking funny to advice a champion member but why don't you apply under fast track without withdrawing that one?

52 weeks is almost a year. which means if CHC buffalo is going to take around one year only to complete the initial assessment of the application, they are not following the CIC's committment of completing all the skilled applications in 6-12 months.

I think you meant why don't I apply in my home country's office. The effort to apply again to my home office is too much.

Rupesh,

here is the respond the email, i have received regarding buffalo.

Okay here is the scoop for buffalo online status. I have emailed them yesterday regarding my application which was sent on Nov. 7th. The rest can be read on this thread. Took Buffalo 24 hours to respond to my email. (cool eh?)

Please be advised that the status of your application has not changed since our acknowledgement letter. Please understand that our office cannot provide you with an update of case status by email on a regular basis.

We will contact you for the next stage of the processing of your file.
Immigration cases being processed in Visa offices outside Canada use a system different from that used to process similar applications in Canada. As a result, the e-Client Application Status (e-CAS) frequentlydoes not reflect the status of cases being processed in Buffalo.

Do not use the CIC e-Cas on-line change of address system. Your new address will not be downloaded to your file in Buffalo.

in a nutshell, buffalo office they could have any status online and dont mean anything. I hope this been informative for many of you.

Rup,

From what i understood in your post, they mentioned 52 week "52 weeks from the date we received the application".

when did you send your full application? are you on the 6th month?

maybe you still need to wait another 6 months.

yeah, that's long though. i'm disappointed as well coz i sent mine just June 2009.

One more buffalo thread...
Rupesh... these buffalos are very slow.. especially its difficult to digest all the celluloid they chew after eating all the green!!!

Hoping they speed up..But 14 months is an average to get the PR..
I am sure they meant 'UPTO 52 WEEKS'.. It may happen with in 52 weeks ..or 1310400 seconds

i am counting those 1310400 seconds lol.

Cajoejoe - yep, i hope the status in reality is going faster than what they show. What you say is true. I have read before on here too that one shouldn't trust the status message always.

SkilledPro - I sent it in Feb. I was hoping that it will get some move before Sep/Oct as I would be going to a conference where there will be some Canadian universities looking for faculty in my area.

ADA - To be honest, 14 months isn't too bad for me. I guess it would have been nicer if I had been expecting 14 months rather than the 6 to 12 months. lol.

Luckily, they did say "up to 52 weeks" which means it could happen faster. :)

Rupesh,

Do you know if 52 week is from the date of application to Nova Scotia or date when Nova Scotia transfered file to Buffalo office or from the date when I submited my DOCUMENTs to Buffalo?????

i think (only think) that it is from the date that Buffalo receives it.

From the time buffalo eats the papers!!!

You mean document or the actual application from Nova Scotia

documents from you. i have no reason to say this but this is what i think. this way, there is incentive to be quicker with your documents.

So now we know some about their timeline. It seems to me that those Visa Offices which were previously slow, are assessing faster. On the contrary, the ones previously faster are slower now!
