This is exactly what I was thinking after reading Anumatri's post- one more month for me, although second in process- whatever it may mean.

How do we calculate the 17 months processing time listed on the CIC website? Is it from the time the application is received at CIO? Or is it once the file reaches the VO?

There are controversies in this but the most accepted assumption is that the clock starts ticking from the date visa office receives application from CIO. Less accepted assumptions are 1. from the date of receipt of full documents by VO from the applicant 2. from the date of second AOR.

I received my 2AOR on september 17 th.Yesterday I wrote email to Buffalo and they answered to me:


Dear Madam / Sir,

Your application is in queue for review. An exact review schedule is not yet available. However, all applications are reviewed in the order in which they were received.



No further action is required by you at this time.



We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

Your timeline looks unusual.
If it's fine with you, could you please confirm that the timeline in your signature is correct? Second AOR was so shortly after you sent your document? Was this a family class or regular FWS1?

no idea when we will get medicals but I'm hoping that they will not taking them so long for the next progress. some took them a month, some after 3-6 months, who knows.
