Hello All,

I just got my PR approved and currently in processing the passport stamping. I have a question regarding bringing my car to Canada from US.
1) Can I bring my car to Canada from US without paying any Taxes on first landing?
2) If yes, can I bring a leased vehicle into Canada?

The issue is that lease on my car ends in Oct 2018 and if I break the lease now I will be paying almost 2K bucks and then when I move to Canada I will have to buy another car and pay more money. Ideally, I would take the leased car to Canada but if for some reason the Leased vehicle isn't allowed, I can buy this car from the dealership and take it with me to Canada if there are no taxes. That way I will be able to save money.

Thanks in advance.
