As far as I know, you could not apply the extension of work permit untill you got the PNP nomination

Please can you confirm if you have been nominated and applied for permanent resident? If you are still at the nomination stage, you may not be eligible for a bridge-work permit.

I have just registered for PNP about a month ago but heard nothing yet. I work in the IT sector but I can't go for express entry because I haven't completed my English test.
I haven't applied for PR because I don't planning on staying the extra few years.
I doubt if you would be eligible for bridge-work permit. You could apply for a closed work permit with the help of your current employer. What provincial nomination did you apply for?

I have registered for
Skills Immigration - Skilled Worker: PNP.
Maybe I am aswel to complete the English exam so? I only have 3 weeks left so I don't really have much time.

You are not eligible. You must receive a nomination before you can be eligible for a bridging open work permit.

Please see if you can take the English exam. Also, see if you can get your employer to support your application for closed work permit.

Thanks! Do you know how long nomination usually take?
