I had to file BOWP as my assignment was going to over in October and my employer will send me back. I have a closed wp valid till feb 2014. So I filed a bowp and it got rejected.
I mentioned that my assignment is going to over and I have my family to support. But they gave that 4 months reason.
I do not understand the significance of that 4 months clause if I am on closed wp.
I have no choice now I have to go back.

Very sorry for what has happened; It depends on the officer I believe.. Even one of my friend's application whose current permit was expiring in 5 months time was rejected.. Don't worry, as you will be here until October, you can apply again before you leave; by that time you will become eligible..

I believe, there is a condition for BOWP that you can't apply prior to 4 month expiration of WP.

when did you apply.. also what documents did you attach with your explanation letter
Sorry to hear. Could you let us know what you wrote in your explanation letter you
( hopefully ) send along with your application and if the 4 months reason is the only
reason mentioned for the rejection.

Sorry to hear! The 4 month rule is to prevent excessive applications ahead of time.....so someone who has a work permit thats valid 1 more year, but is worried about their status, applies way ahead of time to have it extended. If you wait longer and then apply again within those 4 months, you will probably be approved. Also, if you apply for it right at the 4 month mark, it takes them around 30 to 40 days to process it ... your permit is effective once approved after those 30 or 40 whatever days, which means you could find employment elsewhere.
Sorry, I may have missed something. You keep saying you need to go back? Is there a reason? A valid work permit entitles you to remain the country.
Hi nisaxe!
You may stay here in canada until the expiration of your WP in feb 2014 'cause you have valid status til then even if your work is ending in October this year.
ReaPply for BOWP in October. You may be out of job for a few weeks while waiting for the permit because of the timing of your assignment ending and the receipt of the BOWP but at least you wouldn't have to go back home.
There is hope. Hang in there.

Your employer cannot "send you back," they have no authority. You can remain in the country until your WP expires. Of course, you will not be able to work for a new employer without a new work permit.
You can re-apply for the BOWP within the 4-month window before your current permit expires. If you succeed, you can begin working as soon as you receive the BOWP.
Hi,
Can you share what exactly you wrote in the explanation letter
Some please help me with the info about what needs to go on the explanation letter
