Hi i applied on november last week and my work permit was due to expire on jan 13
this is the reason they gave me on the letter
"You must submit a letter from the province that nominated you under the Provincial
Nominee Program that DOES NOT stipulate conditions or restrictions indicating you
must work for a Specific Employer, or work Under a Specific National Occupational
Classification Code. (If these stipulations exist on your Nomination, you are NOT eligible
for a bridging open work permit)".
hi
Can you please copy and paste your rejection letter ?
I got a refuse for BOWP yesterday. After I called to AINP office and they asked to fax the documents to their office, hopefully they will help. I still have a month before my WP expires.
same as mine , i also have closed workpermit , ainp employer driver nominee , i already applied for bowp 2weeks ago and my workpermit expiring tomorrow, im really stressed right now , do i apply tommorow for closed workpermit as my nomination is still valid? and withdraw my bowp application?

Better to apply a close work permit with the employer who nominated you... i think you can delete the application online if they havent open but Im not sure. Like mine as we apply in BOWP they still give me the Close Work Permit just my husband got the open one... same good for 2 yrs and 2 mos...

Try to call tomorrow to AINP office, explain your situation. Hopefully they have already contacted CIC.
On Tue when I called them an agent told me that we have to apply for BOWP if your are Alberta nominee.

To clarify. Even though you have a nomination in a employer driven stream, the nominate certificate states that you don't have a restriction on employment. Therefore, you are entitled to an open work permit. You just have to put no in the question regarding if you have a job offer. That's it. Don't need to run around circles with this.
Hi everyone!
I'm an AINP nominee under employer driven steam, applied for BOWP in Nov, got a refusal on Jan 13, same date I contacted AINP office and they asked me to fax the docs to their office.
Today an AINP agent called me and faxed me a new version of my AINP certificate, where it states that there is no restriction on employment. Then I called CIC and the agent told me that I can apply for BOWP with that new certificate, just have to explain all the situation in the letter and they should refund the first fee payment. But I still have to wait a regular processing time again.
If you received your nomination in September and later you shouldn't have any problem, because it states that there is no restriction on the employment. It is in ALBERTA, other provinces have to check with their offices.
Well, I haven't seen how the old certificates look, but my certificate (got it in December) states company name and noc code, and then another line says: restriction on employment: NO.
So that should be enough, of course is never bad to also put a letter saying" "hey, read the certificate, it says no restrictions, so now you know" (in a pretty way hehe)
My permit expires Feb 25th and I sent my application last tuesday, so I'll wait till 2 days before my permit expires to send the BOWP application, paper based to make enough time before they open it in order to receive my AOR first.
