I am trying to apply for BOWP online and it asks me to go through eligibility but the last question LMO when I hit NO it says im not eligible. Can some one who applied online and recieved the extension of work permit let me know ?
Also i renewed my passport as it was expiring and the passport number changed with the expiry date will that matter in my extension ?
Or can I go to the canadian border and apply for my extension ?
If you are eligible for a BOWP but the questionnaire asks you about an LMO, then you probably answered an earlier question incorrectly. Try again from the beginning.
I'm guessing you answered 'no' to the question that asks something like 'Have you been told by CIC that you are eligible for permanent residency'. If you have an AOR, you should answer 'yes' to this question. Answering 'no' causes the questionnaire to eliminate BOWP as a possibility, and subsequent questions will try to find you some other kind of work permit.
Technically speaking, an AOR is not a statement on eligibility. But it seems that the questionnaire never asks about an AOR, and that the above question is actually intended to cover any "positive eligibility decision" defined by OB485A.
