To obtain CoPR in Canada, we need to have valid status. Until then, we don't need any status as long as we are not staying illegally. If I don't have valid status when CoPR is ready, they will hold it and wait for me to regain status in Canada. If that’s not possible, we can go to our home country to receive the PPR. Additionally, you need to submit the BOWP restoration documents as ADR to the PR file.
At the time of submission, you don't need valid status unless it affects your points. For some job offers and ONIP, losing status can reduce your points. If that happens, they will recalculate your points and may refuse your application.
Okay than good luck may be u will get your pr soon..

@Boby Thomas Thats an interesting information, I am in similar situation
Non-Express Entry(PNP) Online Applications Gather here | Canada Immigration Forum (canadavisa.com) this page has my situation explained, I did see the fact that the IRCC will hold COPR until I regain status in many other forums including reddit as per many peoples experience, but you mentioned "we can go to our home country to receive the PPR" which is interesting, could you explain that a bit more? Because I applied for my Non-express pnp job offer based application 9 months ago so I'm expecting results on my PR soon, it has been more than 90 days on my restoration application and I was searching for alternatives if restoration takes even longer.

If you applied for restoration, PR officer will restore your status and give COPR. He will look for restoration applications and will restore them and the next day you will get COPR. If something else is making you ineligible for restoration, this will not apply.
Hi everyone,
My work permit expired on July 7th.
Applied for restoration on July 15th (via mail because there was no online option for me since I am a PGWP holder and Provincial Nominee for PR).
On August 9th, PR agent told me that they cant process my application because of my out of status ( I passed medical exam in August 2024 and provided biometrics in March 2024).
@Boby Thomas - how long did it take you to get your restoration? Was it an online or on paper application?
Can my PR application be processed if I get a visitor visa?
Thanks in advance

I applied online, and it took 93 days to get approved. Apply for BOWP first—they will approve the first application, and the second will be withdrawn. If you apply for a visitor visa initially, the visitor visa will be approved, and the BOWP will be withdrawn.

Thanks a lot for your response.
93 days! I am sure that they are sworn to wait for a decision a week prior to ending of proposed processing time.
I applied for restoration and a new work permit and also BOWP through the same application.
I am just unsure how it works for my PR application if I get a visitor visa. Because I can fly back home and get a visa in 14 days (yes, 14 days is the processing time and my country is twice more populated than Canada).
I applied for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) with status restoration the day after receiving my Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR). Additionally, as a precaution, I submitted a Visitor Record with restoration at the end of the 90-day restoration period.
No Updates as of now*
Got Approved , BOWP , Worker status restored.
Approved. Status Restored with BOWP
Approved. Status Restored with BOWP

Can someone tell me how to apply online for restoration of status and a new work permit?

WOW!! Great news! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
Thank you.
My PGWP was going to expire in Nov 2024, I requested for OWP in August 2024 and got a temporary letter to keep working till Feb 2025. However, a decision was made in Dec 2024 with a refusal, Stating the following : "You have not demonstrated that you are eligible to apply for an Open Work Permit under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations. Your prospective employer is responsible for obtaining a valid Labour Market Impact Assessment and Confirmation from Employment and Social Development Canada. • Client did not submit some of the eligibility requirement documents that a foreign national must meet in order to be issued a work permit under existing pathways. • Family Information form [IMM 5707] not submitted. [X] We also wish to advise you that your temporary resident status expires on 08AUG2025". (1) I have a visitors record with validity till August 2025, (2). I have submitted my PR application in August 2024 but yet to get my AOR. Can someone please advise on what to do?
