Hi, my long term girlfriend and I are looking to get married in the very near future. After that we will apply for me to sponsor her. We would like to try for both the inland and outland application. This is because with inland she could get a work permit sooner but with outland the overall apporval for permanent residency would be quicker. She is from Germany. Would we get into trouble for submitting both kind of applications? Thanks
You can only submit one type of application. Most likely CIC will return whichever application they receive second.

Andrew-brit, we met with an immigration officer consultant a few days ago and he told us this would be possible?
Your consultant is wrong. You can only have one application per class in progress at one time. You have to pick between outland and inland.
I would ditch your consultant. Doesn't sound like he's a very good one if he's telling you this is possible. I'd be concerned about other bad information he may provide.
It's time to find a new consultant. Canadavisa.com forums is the most knowledgeable consultant you can find, since members can tell their own experiences to you. Also they're free.
Thanks so much for the quick replies. Sorry guys but is there anywhere I can read about this? He is supposed to be very good ,the business looks really respectable, we know he has hundreds of clients and he says it has worked before. Also the change with the OWP being issued before the inland sponsorship is approved was a change that was made last December so there would be fairly new info on this.

It's not new info for us. We are all very familiar with the new OWP rules and they have been out for many months now. As part of the OWP pilot - OWPs are now issued four months after the inland application is received to qualified applicants (vs. having to wait until first stage approval / AIP as was previously the case).
The problem with your girlfriend's application is that she is on a WHV and WHVs don't benefit from implied status. So she will have to stop working between the time her WHV expires and her OWP is approved.
