I actually applied inland (March 13, my country of origin is Colombia) but I'm actually thinking applying in Bogota might have been faster. Let's race!
I haven't asked for the police records because I don't have the file number yet.
Hey Huertdiaz....hahahahahaha Yes, I am a bit stressed out but i'll remain calm 8)
I think I'll send it when they request it....I'll feel better ! We have the receipt so as soon as they ask for it, we'll send it !
Im so sorry to hear about your husband SarahRuiz, Espero que mejore pronto. Traffic in Colombia is pretty crazy everytime my husband comes here he complains a lot.

Thank u so much Lilops ! Distance sucks :-\ but he's gonna be just fine! Thanks again for your concern
So let's pass a bit of time since we're all waiting here How's your process going? You're a november applicant right? Do you hear a lot from VO bogota ?
Ya, I applied Nov13 2013. Last news I got from VO was telling me they received my Background Check and they are gonna call me for an interview in Bogota.
Id update you guys if I get any other email from them.
I wanted to post here since I'm sponsoring my wife who is from Ecuador. I'm from canada. Our meds were done in advance as per the guide. I just submitted my stage 1 to Ontario just waiting on that first email! Once it's approved the file is being shipped down to bogota!
My husband will send it today via fedex so it can reach Bogota tommorow. They haven't requested the receipt for background check but I am sending it anyways....I am taking a chance. Hope they won't get mad...
Don't worry huertdiaz.....The next news you'll hear from Bogota is an AWESOME one )))) You're ''in Process'' ;D ;D 8)
Once again, I am getting worried ( yeah I know Huertdiaz lol )
I sent my original receipt for my husbands background check before they requested it, but I just read that I needed to wait till i get the request from Bogota since they send a page with stickers on it !!! :'( Did I do something wrong ??
I thought Bogota was done with the whole stickers thing... I guess not.
It is odd that they send you a letter that tells you not to send stuff, and at the same time give you stickers.
Very strange..In the past they would send the stickers at the moment of the background check...
It would be so good to have more opinions on the subject....
I don't think you did anything wrong. You followed the steps on CIC's website. Nothing different than that, so don't worry!!! 8)
Your are doing great!
They didn't send you anything when they requested the payment then ? Very weird these stickers things....but like you said, I tink it's been a while...think i've read this in a 2012 thread....
Did Bogota sent you a AOR when they received your requested documents or no...?
No, we received the request for background check via email. Nothing by actual mail.
They didn't send any AOR for the background check either, but as far as I have read, that is normal.
What was the main purpose of the letter/stickers you received?
No I haven't received anything, I've read it ! ...and I thought I did something wrong by sending it before they actually request it because of the stickers....I guess they are not doing this anymore since they haven't ask you guys.
+1 for you Huertdiaz....Thanks for always being such great help. I really appreciate it 8)
Just wanted to share some good news with this group:
My common-law partner (Colombian) received an email from VO-Bogota requesting her passport and the email says, "We are now ready to issue your Permanent Resident visa"!
So we are understandably very thrilled.
We applied in November 2013 (Application Received on November 4, 2013) in Mississauga (We applied outland even though my common-law partner has been in Canada since August 2013) and VO-Bogota received the application on January 7, 2014.
Medical results were received and after a complicated issue with police records from Argentina, today the application seems to have been finalized.
We do have a question in case anyone here knows:
After my partner receives her passport with her PR hopefully from Bogota in the mail (We will send the passport tomorrow), what does she have to do in order get the PR approved by an Immigration Officer if she is already in Canada? Does she have to leave the country and land again with her PR?
Thanks and I wish you all the same luck and speed! (Under 5 months!)
