I have searched around here looking for the cases when the birth certificate was not available. But the answers have not been satisfactory for my situation. I don't have a birth certificate. My parents had got it registered by it was submitted in the school. Now what are the options I have?
1.) Get my parents sign an affidavit. But the problem is my father works in another country. Can I courier him the affidavit and get it signed by him? If not then does this mean the affidavit will not work?
2.) My second option would be......?? Please suggest.

Hi blueboy,
I think you need a birth certificate otherwise how do you prove where and when you were born? Isn't there a way you can get your birth certificate from the school you submitted to and make a certified copy?
You can make another BC from the Municipal Office of the place you born or whichever office keep the records, people lose them all the time and get a new one. You must have some kind of ID, passport and school certificates, you need to show them and they will give you another one.

If you go with this optionThis is my Experience)
Both your parents (Mum and Dad ) will have to go to a Notary and take an oath/make an affidavit and sign and get it sealed. This what I have been using in Europe for the past 20 Years and has never been challenged.
