Hi guys. I am a CEC inland applicant with April AOR. I have given my biometrics when I enter to Canada so I believe I dont need to give bionetrics anymore.
But my spouse haven't given her biometrics. And she is a dependant of my PR application. In this case, does she still have to give bionetrics? If so, service canada office will call me as a primary applicant or her? Anyone in similar situation?

I am a CEC inland, with AOR as Mar 7, 20. I am on a WP, was an ICT and landed in 2019. Been some time, not even sure when and if I would have given Biometrics for the work permit. I am just assuming I would have. But yet to see any update on my profile. Any one in the same boat or passed it? I hear some have had it since a long time.

Please advise.

Hi, yes, if the spouse hasn't done Biometrics before, then it has to be done now. For her Biometrics they will call her, if Service Canada couldn't reach your spouse they will call the second number (alternative number) you have provided to them.

Now I can see why Service Canada and IRCC were delaying the calls (slow start) because they were working on other solutions. I believe, as soon as they will sort out this new change, IRCC will distribute the names and details of those who should do Biometrics to SC and things will go faster.

Hi, if you ever did a Biometrics for Canada, then you can go to your EE profile. At the page 'View the application you submitted', click your EXXXXXXXXXX (express entry online application) 'Check full application status' button. It will bring you to the 'Application status and messages' page, on the right side of that page you can find 'Applicant information'. You can see if you Biometrics (details) field populated with a lot of numbers and dates, then you are good, just relax. if it's empty, then still relax and join my team "Waiting for magic call from Service Canada".

I check excel sheet. It says biometric exempted for few candidates from GTA. What does that means?! What is CEC inland?

Thanks. Could not see my profile there. So I searched a bit and found a link which tells you if you Biometrics are still valid.

I am from Vancouver BC but apparently they haven't even called feb applicants yet and I am not exempt since I never gave biometrics. It looks like applications in BC and ontario who haven't given biometrics have to wait a long time. It is very sad since we have akready reached 7 months time and people in Saskatchewan and other areas from July have got bio done too

Yep I am in the same boat in Vancouver. I am happy for the folks getting calls but this is incredibly frustrating for someone who has been waiting longer.

Who is exempt under this public policy
Applicants are exempt under this public policy from the requirement to give their biometrics if they have both of the following:

• a new or pending application for permanent residence made from within or outside Canada
• already submitted their biometrics in support of an immigration application within the last 10 years

Biometric fee
Applicants should not pay the biometric fee (CAN$85) for a new application for permanent residence, even if the system asks them to pay it when they submit their application.

If an applicant has a pending permanent residence application for which they have already paid the biometric fee, and they are exempt under this public policy from the requirement to give their biometrics, IRCC will process their application and send them a refund for the biometric fee (CAN$85). Applicants do not need to do anything to initiate this refund.

IRCC posted very clear instructions that all applicants provided bio over the last 10 years, there is no need to provide a new bio. So far in this group, there are 100 different interpretations about it. Who said visitor visa is not accepted and etc. please read the news very carefully...
