I applied for "Canada temporary resident permit" (tourist visa) and got request for bio-metric collection. My bio-metric appointment is booked for 1st June, but I have been asked by my office to get UK work permit immediately.
I am going to submit UK visa on 28th May (and have to submit passport along with that).
The problem is I have to provide bio-metric for Canada before 16th June (bio-metric collection center needs Passport in original, which I will not have on 1st June).
In the bio-metric request letter, their is a section which says:
If you cannot provide your biometric information (photograph and/or fingerprints) or if you need
more than the 30 days, please contact Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada at https://www.canada.ca/immigration and be prepared to provide a detailed explanation.
The IRCC link provided is a very generic link and I am not able to find specifics about extension.
If you applied for a visa online, you should not be required to submit your passport as part of a biometrics collection appointment. Passports are only required for online applications if the application is approved.

I am facing a similar situation. My passport is with US consulate for administrative processing. Expected to get in 5-6 weeks. I was asked to provide my biometrics in VFS within 4 weeks. Can anyone suggest on this? @krishnacanada22 how did u manage your situation?
