She made reference - but at any time, she or others can raise an objection specifically to C6. They haven't and they aren't going to regarding this amendment because it's vital. It's a protection for children under the care of the state - come on.
All this time wasting amendments should be shelved. What is needed is a time allocation and I think it's time that Harder starts utilizing tools he has. The conservatives utilized this a lot for bills past during their tenure and I don't see why the Libs can't. At this point the NDP seem to be the sensible ones, can't wait for the next election

Have you followed the debate on C-4 earlier today? There was a Senator who openly admitted that she feels amendments are starting to get out of scope on the regular by now, but that she didn't dare to raise that point earlier. The Senate can amend anything. But they should use their powers responsibly.
I did - the question RE point of order is not 'out of scope' or not --- the cons proposed an amendment that reverted the repeal proposed in C-4. Sen McCoy believes that one cannot revert the bill once it passed the 2nd reading, so she asked the speaker to rule on that. The pending decision has nothing to do with 'out of scope' issue.
Harder said the govt. doesn't support this amendment. Doesn't that mean that there is a high chance HoC will reject it ? Then the bill will come back to Senate. To avoid this ping pong, it should not pass.
