I think this is a direct consequence of http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/canadian-politics/trudeaus-senate-representative-slams-obstructionist-conservative-delay-tactics-in-new-report. Newspapers are starting to report the obstruction tactics of the Opposition, and Senate does not want to be under spotlight anymore so the senators who are introducing amendments and especially Conservatives have made a deal with Senator Harder and Omidvar to not obstruct debate and to pass the Bill on the first week of May
Yeah but now Senator Harder (Government), Griffin (introduced the second amendment) and Martin (Conservative) have all three risen to speak and say they reached an agreement and they will pass C-4 next week and C-6 first week of May. Also Sen Griffin said she new her amendment would be defeated and she will not be a pain in the rear about it, she will just vote for it to be rejected on division
You can completely trust this tweet. What they have just announced is that they are going to invoke the senate rule 7-1(1) (time allocation to gov bills). However, the leader of the government must move a motion to formalise this agreement.
Oh great to heat this... Is the dicussion for C6 over for today or yet to happen???
