I am marrying my partner this January in Vancouver and will be applying for permanent residency through the London office.
However, I am currently living in South Korea and will return to the UK in June. I am planning on mailing my application in April. The returning in late June at which point I am hoping it would be around the time of the passport request. I am hoping to go out there by September, do you think this is a good time line?

Just to give you a rough idea of the timeline...

I sent my application on May 19th
1st stage was approved in mississauga 23rd of June
Application then went to London England on the 23rd of June and i am still waiting for London to start processing it... They say it could take anywhere from 2 months to 8 months overall! So it's hard to say whether yours would be done by September... It is possible though :)

sooner the better, ;)

also it depends from a country to another, some countries release a police clearance same day others take 2 months, there are many things that can delay an application

good luck

re that police clearance...

Im getting a few mixed signals in this forum.

From CIC it states a police clearance is required.
I remember several posters here mentioning that CIC does a simple check of your name against a database, and if youre clean then you dont need to have submitted a PC.

If I go ahead and get one, what is the usual timeline?

Many thanks,
IA
