I'm moving to BC from AB this summer.
I'm planning to apply for the sponsorship in august when I receive my post graduate work permit.
I'd like to get MSP as soon as possible.
Do I have to be employed to get MSP on my work permit?
I just want my husband to include me in his insurance.
Thanks for the reply!
Anyways, I called BC MSP.
What they said basically is that if my study permit is valid 60 days after I apply I will get MSP.
I told the guy that mine will only be valid around 40 days when I move to BC. And he said in that case I should provide receipts that I applied for the work permit and they will review my case as "implied status" and they may or may not give me the coverage.
Hope that helps someone with the same issue and
hopefully I'll get my MSP!

Oh, I wasn't aware that your current work permit expires. In this case I'm not so sure anymore that you won't have any problems. I know that I would have been eligible for coverage according to their own policies but I was refused anyway.
But it worth a try, good luck!
I will apply for sure, it's free to apply anyways. If I get denied, then I'll just apply again when I actually get my work permit.
Thanks for the help!
