Hi all.
One of my friends on PR status has stuck backhome as he got a baby while he was out of Canada. Please suggest the shortest and quickest option that allows him to come back to Canada with his family and newly born baby. I have gone through couple of relevant posts but the procedures laid out for such cases seem quite impractical, rather they sound pretty ruthless.Just wondering if someone who has experienced such a scnario can come up with some good solution. Thanks
The options are pretty limited. The baby can only be sponsored for PR if at least one of the parents is living in Canada.
Assuming the baby has a non-visa exempt passport, they will need to apply for a TRV to bring the baby to Canada. If the TRV is refused they should try for a TRP. If the TRP is also refused, then one of the parents will need to move to Canada ahead of the rest of the family to submit the PR application for the baby and will have to remain in Canada while the application is processed, once the application is approved, the baby will be able to come to Canada.

Thanks scylla. He is from Egypt, so its a non-visa exempt passport, am i right. Any idea approx how long does the PR application for such cases take to process, if he has to go for the last resort. I heard somewhere that one of the parents has to stay min one year in Canada to be able to apply for baby's PR. Please suggest

Yes - the baby will hold a non-visa exempt passport. No - there is no requirement for the parents to stay a minimum of one year in Canada. However they can't be in violation of the PR residency requirement. I don't know how long sponsorship will take.
