Baby Born In India To Canadian Father...

Hi,

Thanks al for your posts regarding this topic. Still confused whether we need Indian visa for my son born in India or not?

I am a Canadian citizen and my wife is an Indian citizen. We obtained Canadian citizenship for our son born in India in 2013. We then obtained Canadian passport (5 year validity) for our son on March 2014. We hope to leave for Canada as soon as my wife gets her visa from New Delhi Visa Office.

As per your posts, we need exit permit for our son. We will apply for that after booking flight.

In the meantime do we need to apply for Indian visa (six months or one year) for my son or not?

I almost filled up the application CIT 0001 Application for PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP ($75) and about to mail then checked at forum and saw that I was suppose to fill CIT 0003 Application for Citizenship Certificate ($100). I am confused :'(

I am (father) a Canadian Citizen and my wife is a PR and gave birth to my daughter in India.
Which form do i need to fill CIT 0001 or CIT 0003?
Should I just send my Citizenship certificate and Driver License copy or any other supporting documents like hospital pictures and doctors note etc?

CIT0001 is for those who are ALREADY CANADIAN CITIZENS and need proof of citizenship.

CIT0003 is for PERMANENT RESIDENTS that are applying to be granted citizenship.

Your daughter is already Canadian, therefore CIT0001 is the correct form.

tahsin give you every single detail...but

1.In your first question it doesn't matter if you apply in Canada or in new Delhi embassy. ..tahsin applied in new Delhi embassy and I m applied in Chandigarh embassy on the same month..but I m received it in June and he didn't received citizenship certificate yet. ..so it doesn't matter where you apply...

4. there is no need for it even Canadian passport issue earlier apart from Indian..just apply limited validity passport when you received ur baby's canadian passport and you want to fly immideatly then go to ur local SSP office and they issue EXIT visa for ur baby's passport. ..all the best

Can you please tell me where did you get EXIT VISA FROM, we are in the same boat, and they say you need to get it from local ssp, or from ssp in amritsar. Police seems to be not aware about this.

Can you guide me where you went for this
