Automatic re validation while H1b amendment is pending

Hi Experts ,
I am living in the US on H1B ,I have two more years on my current visa and my current visa is not stamped on my passport .
Due to change in the client ,my employer is going to file amendment on my H1b but co-incidentally I got my COPR a week back as per which last date to land in Canada is 03rd October 2019 .
I am not sure my amendment petition would be approved by then since it got filed in regular mode .
I was planning to use automatic re-validation to enter back into the US but now that my amendment petition went to USCIS ,can I still use automatic re validation ?
Do I have to carry any documentation related to my new client as well ?

You are eligible to use AVR since you have a valid I-94 (with the approved petition). The pending amendment petition does not matter.

Irrespective of your expired Visa, you should always carry all relevant documentation showing that you have a genuine job.
